Obituary

Evelyn B. Montney (nee Magnuson) passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, surrounded by her family at age 93.

She was the beloved wife of the late Fredrick “Bud” Montney and loving mother of Patricia (Bill) Schnell of Cadillac, Mich., Thomas (Marcia) of Waukesha, Judith (Jim) Hansen of Brookfield, (Esther) of Coulee Dam, Wash., (Susan) of Waukesha, and the late Charles (Joan), Roger and Russell. She was the cherished grandmother of 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and her special friend of 46 years, Geraldine Hansen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Evelyn and Fred were owners of Montney’s Cafe in Waukesha. They retired to Montello.

Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was artistically talented with drawing, embroidering, crocheting and knitting. She loved to bake and cook for her family and friends. She adored her dogs, especially the companionship of her last dog, Muffie. She loved the outdoors, traveling, sunsets, reading of the Bible and other books of interest, flowers, gardening and birds.

Special thanks for the care and compassion given to Evelyn and her family by the staff and caregivers at Franciscan Woods and Wheaton Franciscan Hospice.

A celebration of life was held at Franciscan Woods with close family, friends and caregivers.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Wood National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials to Franciscan Woods Activity Center are appreciated. Evelyn enjoyed participating in activities provided at Franciscan Woods.
